Hi Kannan, How are you? Hope you remember me. I liked the ideas Chess Videos Online and Chess Tutor. However, you could please consider posting tutoring videos too. For example, like Alex Lenderman’s Smith Morra Gambit series at ICC Recently. BTW, lots of friends tell me you get them free at utorrent or mininova websites. If you have copyright issues, atleast you could give the urls. For example, I am looking for other Smith Morra Gambit videos available on internet. Other ideas include chess book reviews and kids section (like chesskids.com). I could not help technically however, if u need help contentwise, I can ask if my son (who is a chess player) could help you. Thanks and regards, PK Sivakumar

The World championship at Mexico is coming up.Most of you may know that you can watch games live on Playchess.com

I urge you to look at not only the games of Anand and Kramnik but also the games of the Creative figting players, Morozevich and Aronian. Both of these palyers are original and shun theory as much as possible.

Back to the World Championship again.
You can see the Profiles of the players being posted in
chessminds.powerblogs.com A nice job Dennis is doing.

How about We start something like that here too albeit in a shorter form.

The First round Pairings are out and We see our Anand meeting Gelfand.Gelfand used to be the nemesis for Anand in the 90s but since then tables turned and the last Gelfand Victory over Anand was way back in 1993.

However Gelfand is a tough player with an all round ability.one of the things about Anand is that He does not go all out for a Win with Black. His repertoire with Black particularly against 1 d4 is not that Ok. But nowadays he does play the double edged Slav with Black , so let s see. The game could be a theoretical duel with a peaceful result.

Kramnik meets Svidler. Peter Svidler is the nice guy of chess with a passion for cricket. His nick in ICC is
Sachin Tendulkar! Sure Kramnik will play for a Win since Svidler usually defends with Grunfeld which Kramnik may love to play against. However Svidler may have some surprise too. OF Kramnik much need not be said.Kasparov from whom praise is hard to get has said “Kramnik plays chess”.Kramnik has possibly the greatest positional understanding of all players.Give Bland queenless positions to Kramnik and you are doomed.

Grischuk with white against Peter Leko. Drawing Machine once he was called as , Peter Leko is probably the toughest player to beat in the World, very strong in theory and endings.Draw is likely.

Levon Aronian defends Black aginst Morozevich. The game could turn out to be a short draw or the most interesting fought out game and could swing anyway.Notwithstanding Carlsen, Aronian is a potential future World Champion and his games usually sharp and interesting.
Morozevich is dangerous as Black. He is the most original player in the world, but to appreciate his game you need to be a strong player yourself and also acquire a taste for his style.

Sorry it s Anand as White against Gelfand and Anand should go for it.Possibly Sicilian! and possibly Najdorf at that.

and it s Morozevich who has white against Aronian. While Morozevich as Black might have led to a Crazy game , I am not that optimistic of a great fight the other way round.
Could turn out to be a draw.

  10. nagarajan ramamurthy Says:

Hi So the First Round is all draws.
    Travel Weary Players?

Gelfand seemed better in the final position against Anand
    and Grischuk likewise against Leko.

The equation of the Double Round Robin makes the contestants cautious no?

  11. nagarajan ramamurthy Says:

Anand has produced probably the novelty of the year 17…c5
to demolish Aronian. The move was “discovered” only 3 days ago!
Kramnik outplayed Morozevich from Catalan more in Morozevich’s style than Kramnik’s Style!

Svidler-Leko saw Svidler playing a new 15th move in Marshall and the interesting game concluded in a draw as was the game between Gelfand and Grischuk.

Anand plays Kramnik in Rd 3 with white.

Hey nice site. Anyways chess tips. To become good one must learn from ones mistakes. Chess Analysis Pro 7000 software seems the best at this.
